I disagree. Arteta’s negative tactics aren’t about players. His favouritism isn’t about players. These are things he needs to improve on. Stop swapping the left back after an hour and bring on a forward. MLS isn’t a full back and we’ve not tried him once in a more forward position and why not? Rice doesn’t offer enough as a left 8 and Arteta persists. Trosaard stayed on the pitch for an hour at right back with 0 crosses and 0 dribbles. Havertz keeps dropping to right wing. Havertz set the record for striker with most consecutive home goals and he moved him to midfield. We’re not about to absolve Arteta for habitual shitty decisions!

among many other things, Havertz has played at the wing once for barely any time, what are you on about. He got put back in midfield cuz Jesus just scored a hat-trick and we were playing the same team so he got an extra game to reward form, which he justified by scoring another 2, and we still want Havertz in the team cuz he’s good. He’s back at striker for the last game cuz we weren’t playing Jesus, he probably will be there while we don’t have another striker if Jesus isn’t playing.

MLS is a fullback for the way that we play. Leftback also is one of the positions that’s most comfortably able to put a kid in because of how important that 6 is — look at how much worse we are with Partey, who is absolutely a mistake that Arteta continues to make, but the solution is not MLS, who’s still just 18 years old, it’s to put Rice down there and put Merino up at 8.

and tbh what forward do you want Arteta to bring on? Sterling, who’s been pretty shit and recently coming back from injury, or Jesus, who’d also been pretty shit until recently, and whom Arteta has been bringing on? We don’t have any others. Nwaneri’s come on as well a fair few times. Lad’s 17 and has played almost as much as the likes of Vieira and ESR last season already and we’re halfway through the season.

Arteta can improve but he’s not the main problem here.

Havertz has played at the wing once for barely any time, what are you on about.

He played there for 30 minutes on Tuesday

we still want Havertz in the team cuz he’s good.

But he’s been arse pretty much everywhere except in front of goal.

He’s back at striker for the last game cuz we weren’t playing Jesus, he probably will be there while we don’t have another striker if Jesus isn’t playing.

But he’s been floating to right wing which has been hindering us and was actually moved to right wing in the game, which wasn’t productive.

Leftback also is one of the positions that’s most comfortably able to put a kid in because of how important that 6 is

What is this bullshit. Yes Saka came through at full back, but do you know how many teenagers have never had to play fullback? Just at our club. Wilshere, Fabregas, Song, Ramsey, Jeffers.

look at how much worse we are with Partey, who is absolutely a mistake that Arteta continues to make

My argument isn’t about MLS being bad, he’s been fantastic. My point is that fullback isn’t his natural position and at a time where we’re struggling for choices on the wing and left 8, perhaps he could be utilised there.

MLS, who’s still just 18 years old

How old is Yamal? Why are we acting like he’s the first teenager to play in a top league?

it’s to put Rice down there and put Merino up at 8

I don’t disagree, but Arteta seems to.

tbh what forward do you want Arteta to bring on? Sterling, who’s been pretty shit and recently coming back from injury, or Jesus, who’d also been pretty shit until recently, and whom Arteta has been bringing on?

Just not a left back. But yeah, ten minutes of Stirling or buy more forwards.

from injury, or Jesus, who’d also been pretty shit until recently, and whom Arteta has been bringing on? We don’t have any others. Nwaneri’s come on as well a fair few times. Lad’s 17 and has played almost as much as the likes of Vieira

Vieira wasn’t good enough and ESR never fit the profile that Arteta wanted

Arteta can improve but he’s not the main problem here

You’re saying that like this isn’t his squad and he gets no input or like he hasn’t been making dodgy decisions.

half our bench is leftbacks rn, and the rest are coming back from injury, or kids who haven’t made debuts.

i’m saying LB is the most comfortable with our tactic right now. It’s why we could put fucking Zinchenko there, doesn’t have to defend and can focus on his outputs in passing and offence. It’s nothing to do with Saka.

also 30 minutes in one match is nothing.

i’m not saying arteta isn’t at fault, i’m saying he’s not the main problem. You think he’s the reason we haven’t signed Raphinha or Williams or Sesko or Vlahovic or all the other names we’ve been linked with?

Arteta is a defensive coach. When things get tough, he shuts up shop. When we’re ahead he shuts up shop. If he pushed for attackers like he does defenders, we’d have them. Look at how he tapped up Rice. The squad is built to his spec and his style of play.
