Wait, people have already hacked that damn thing to run emulations and we still can’t get porn on the PSVR2?

    Priorities, people!

I am surprised that it even has local hardware capable of emulating anything. Here I thought it was literally just a display with some buttons and networking capability, with a weak processor that would only be good for decompressing a video stream from the console that is actually running everything.

Emulating the psp doesn’t require much in terms of hardware. Recall that the psp is running a varient of the same cpu that is in the ps1 (why the psp could play ps1 games, it ran them in a compatibility mode).

Wouldn’t be surprised if decoding 1080p60 h265 video eats up more cpu

Same, if this thing was capable of downloading the same games as the Vita (PSP, PS1 Classics, PS Vita), I’d be a lot more interested in it.

I read this headline as “Sony’s PlayStation Portable hacked to run emulated PSP games” and was super confused why you would bother emulating the software when the device can run it natively
