I’ve never played that game, but I knew the soundtrack before it came out in NA, lol. It’s so good.

This is one of those songs that I can listen to endlessly and never get tired of. When I got the demo disc with the intro cutscene on it that was packed in with Vagrant Story (another spectacular game), I lost my mind. I was/am such a massive fan of Chrono Trigger that this song and the opening video consumed me, and it hasn’t ever let me go. The Chrono series is my greatest joy, hands down. It represents not only the highest quality, but also such a pure and joyful part of my life.

This is from one of my all time top game soundtracks.

It may not be the most consistent soundtrack overall (e.g. compared with other Square works of the time) but there are plenty of great tracks and the highs are so high!
