To shamelessly steal the top comment:
Should’ve been called “Legend of Zelda - The missing Link”
I cannot over state how much I love that “Legend of Zelda” finally stars Zelda, not to mention the art style… But why did they give her apparently no offensive capabilities? Why wouldn’t she be able to swing a sword? I want to see my Zelda kick ass, not summon monsters to fight for her.
Seems like it’s leaning hard on the “puzzle” aspect of LoZ. Honestly, I’m personally stoked.
After the lack of true dungeons for the last two games, I’m fucking here for it.
Can’t wait for the sequel where Zelda puts on Majora’s Mask.
I am very interested how well riddles will work, when it looks like somethings can just brute force you through any problem
In totk they solved this by limiting your abilities in shrines. I wonder if they will do something similar here
I’m kinda hoping for unique echoes in dungeons that you unlock like you would the torch, boomerang, magic wand, etc. in previous games. Then, once you get it, you can use it in the overworld.
Dude. She hurls boulders at bad guys in the trailer.
Yeah, and she can use boulders to block attacks - but it looks like the main method of attacking will be using echos of baddies. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It’s not really a new development to have Zelda be more magic-y. She always has been. There’s some exceptions but by and large Link is the sword-y one and Zelda is the magic-y one.
I agree, but appreciate that Zelda isn’t just “girl Link”. Ganon & Link sword fight enough, with Ganon dipping into magic, it makes sense for Zelda to lean heavily into it. I do think a bow would be fitting, but I expect we’ll have enough creativity with the echos that it won’t be necessary.
