Recent reports from immigrants and advocates along the U.S. southern border indicate that even when migrants express credible fear about returning to their home country, they are being ignored and deported.

Expressions of credible fear were one of the few exceptions named in Biden’s recent terrible “shut down the border” EO. It’s not much, but at least Biden was willing to concede that people shouldn’t be deported if it’s likely they’re being delivered straight to torture or death. Apparently CBP doesn’t share even that extremely basic level of concern.
