It looks like the ‘TF’ part of OpenTF was too similar to Terraform and they have come up with a new name for the project. In addition, the project is now a part of the Linux Foundation and they have a new website.

Well that’s disappointing that they separated from LF. I would have thought Tofu would have made a great partner.
I think it’s a terrible name. But that’s just me.
I think it is the best option of all the possible choices I have seen and I can see how the ‘Open’ they tacked on is required for finding the project through searches. Adoption would have been be awful if they stuck with just ‘Tofu’. Adoption of tofu as a meat substitute could have improve, though.
