In glad you found us! We’re pretty quiet at the moment, not enough people to really boost the community and I can only do so much. But the more people make the transition the better of we’ll be!
I followed you here from Reddit mate! Your post after the mod changes (that I can’t seem to find now) turned me on to Lemmy generally. It took that most recent change to shake me loose from Reddit but I’ve been lurking here for a bit. Let’s get this sub going. :)
Do we need an ex-Reddit support group too, now?
Yes probably.
Going by the [email protected] community: Yes. People need to just let it go.
I know what you mean. But given that you’re on !exchristian, I assume you know how hard it is to just let things go.
I know this must be a tough transition. I will pray for you.

What the priest says before molesting the altar boy.
Pray for me. I think you’re all supposed to touch my head and pray incoherently now, right?
also /s hopefully obviously.
Don’t forget the anointing with oil.
Oh yeah. Don’t forget the oil.
That reminds me. Did you hear about this a few years ago? Scam involving a “miraculous” oil Bible.

Welcome! We’re still small, but Lemmy will come into its own.
Good for you, you are no longer shackled to mass data collection, and walled garden social media. Welcome to the fediverse, please enjoy your stay.
Hell yeah! I’m glad you found us here!
Hi! I used to frequent the atheist community boards over there. It’s lower traffic here, obviously, but there’s a distinct lack of people who come confidently charging in with yet another Kalam argument that they heard last Sunday and that absolutely without a doubt proves god exists. I suspect that part of it is that lemmy on the whole is more difficult to get running (picking an instance, which seems like a bigger deal than it is, then having to sub to multiple communities with the same name/topic so you don’t miss out on conversations are both things that should be addressed).
Anyway, the community here is still small enough and bottom-up enough that we can make it into the kind of service we’d like to see.
confidently charging in with yet another Kalam argument
I have a totally new and revolutionary argument that is absolutely not the Kalam!
P1 - Everything has a cause
P2 - The universe isn’t eternal because I say so
P3 - The universe must have had a cause
C - Therefore, the cause of the universe must be Carl Sagan attempting to bake an apple pie from scratch
Checkmate, atheists!
Yeet thyself to a nunnery! Go!
(Do I really need a /s here?)
Yes. Thank you. I’m here for it.
And I agree. I’m old and I sometimes pine for the old days on the Internet, when the dumber amongst us were effectively locked out.
It’ll take a bit to get used to an environment where disagreements don’t have to become arguments, and simple misunderstandings aren’t personal attacks.
It’s nice when people give each other the benefit of the doubt.
Welcome to Lemmy, and good luck!
