Last season, Sascha Stegemann received a 6.0 rating (the worst possible rating) in the same matchup.
So two years in a row, this game has been greatly influenced by dismal officiating. I’d actually argue that this year was worse, since he fucked over both teams. That’s no bias, that’s just gross incompetence.
Germanys schooling system confused me for so long lol. My gf said she graduated with an average of 1.3 from her school and i was so fucking confused when she said that was really good lol
But isn’t it just the same as the letter system? A=1, B=2, C=3 etc,

As i said in the dortmund thread yesterday this ref clearly missed the penalty (due to incompetence as he was looking at it for a long time or not having the balls to call a penalty for the away side) which would have sealed the win for frankfurt (being 3-0 up at half time) but in the 2nd half dortmund could have run away with this game…
Frankfurt was amazing in the EL on thursday and they could have won here, such a shame.
Refereeing has been abysmal this season. The Bundesliga referees are clearly in a crisis. No idea what needs to change.
Oh I have many reform ideas for refereeing in the Bundesliga. Some but not all include things like:
- making it a full-time job
- dissolving the whole system on how refereeing works at the amateur and youth levels
- greater merit culture with quicker (or any to be real) promotion and demotion between the leagues
Valid points but what I don’t understand is why the level of refereeing seeming has dipped in the last few years. I can’t remember a time when almost all referees have been under constant criticism.
It doesn’t help that they also seemingly have an internal communications issue when their Press Officer gets taken to the woodshed on air by Didi Hamann of all people for an idiotic denial of a mistake. Shows lack of reflection.
