Think the oldest game I own that I haven’t yet played is Tomb Raider. Got it with my original PlayStation.
Thought to have been an ordinary falling star.

Hi there
Without a banana for scale, it’s hard to tell.
I dunno, I kind of like the industrial silver. Wouldn’t want it to get mixed up with my real bananas, after all.
If you want to get technical, the first was arguably 3D Monster Maze, released in 1981. There was also Battlezone, again 1981 - though it’s debatable whether it counts as an FPS.
A more accurate answer would be id’s own Catacomb 3D, from 1991.
Wolf 3D definitely wasn’t the first by any stretch
How is Bastion on neither of these lists??
Like $200 worth of honey?
Great, but small Android phones are still few and far between. The Jelly Star is a notable exception, but those devices don’t seem to get much in the way of long-term support
DAYTONAAAAAA… Let’s go away!
Speaking of spaceships…
Not the most practical PC engine model, because it lacked the extra oomph of the SuperGrafx and you couldn’t attach a CD-ROM² - but just look at it
PC Engine. Not only does it look like a prop from the set of TNG, but it is delightfully tiny. The cartridges are little cards that you slot in the front. There is literally nothing bad about a PC Engine. (Except for maybe that it’s only got one controller port)
I’ve found XnView to be a good IrfanView replacement. (Granted it’s not QUITE as good; same as how there isn’t anything quite as good as Notepad++)
As for Lynx on Windows, looks like it’s available through Scoop! https://bjansen.github.io/scoop-apps/main/lynx/
Ah - in that case, I’m going YoTD, Spyro the Dragon, Ripto’s Rage! (I do like 2 a lot, but it’s always felt weirdly disjointed to me. Ripto is a very good villain though.)
It’s less that good has one hand tied behind its back, and more that good is fighting with a sword while evil brought an attack helicopter
Couple I haven’t seen yet:
Not quite the last - we also had Chinatown Wars for DS, in I think 2008?
I’m curious, why that specific order for Spyro? I’d personally just go in release order, same with the Crash games.
Sounds like Root Explorer would be suitable.
I have my name in the back of ‘Metal Slug: The Ultimate History’ for helping… er, someone more directly involved with screenshots of Metal Slug 6. Was a good moment.
Good news, it wasn’t cannibalised! This is a real product, it’s basically a Gaggia machine with an SGI shell.
