The western left is a joke. Anti-imperialism is the most basic of basics and they can’t even do that. Social chauvinists the lot of them. Europe’s de-industrialization and the US’s collapse into civil war can’t come soon enough.
Yes anti-imperialist western leftists exist, but they are indeed a minority. Unfortunately as conditions in the west deteriorate i expect the chauvinism and imperialism of the western left to get even worse as imperialist plunder dries up, as there is less wealth to redistribute, and there will be a near universal demand in the west from all sides of the political spectrum (with the exception of a minority of anti-imperialists who will be increasingly persecuted, denounced as pro-Russian or pro-Chinese traitors in the new cold war hysteria) to become more aggressive in acquiring the resources of China and Russia and to employ more direct brutality to prevent the west’s neo-colonial control over Africa and Latin America from slipping.
I go so back and forth on this. On one hand I see people slowly waking up and saying more and more radical things against the government. On the other hand I see these same people succumb to the peer pressure to support liberal politicians based on “woke” identities and have no doubt that they’ll all have the Taiwan flags as their profile pic in the near future.
