This summaries the problem with radlib perfectly. We should show it to as many liberals as possible, not that it would actually sway most of them but still, nothing bad can come from confronting them with their own hypocrisy.
I don’t think that “progressive” is the right label to use here, i.e. for the rabid Biden-defenders and pro-Israel Democrats. Those are just your run-of-the-mill liberals.
Any support whatsoever for Biden is supporting genocide, rabid defenders or not; therefore, even promoting liberal democracy in the U.S. is, too, supporting genocide. I’ve seen plenty of “progressives,” including social democrats, who condemn Hamas simply because they killed Israeli occupiers on October 7. For many living in the Gaza Strip before 0ct 7, it was a fate worse than death. As for progressive politicians like Bernie Sanders, their vague support for Palestine is worthless. All these people want to help a subjugated group as long as they do not violently defend themselves. Also, the help progressive libs offer is to use liberal democracy, specifically voting, which is more than useless when it’s that same system that is the cause of this situation.
A lot of them do consider themselves “progressives” though. They are progressive only in name, but they still think they are and behave as if just stating that they are “progressive” somehow makes them morally superior to others.
I think “progressive” in quotation marks, is the right way to put it (or better yet- “faux-progressive”). Because these liberals have painstakingly presented themselves as “progressive,” and to define themselves as the “left,” and their whole schtick is claiming to be the “lesser evil,” and pretending like they aren’t part of the problem.
I am so triggered by someone politely asking him not to do a thing which causes issues for people with visuals impairement for him to respond with “You’ll be fine”. Fucking casual sassy ableism. :))))))))))))))))
Who?
Crazy response by him, especially because not putting white letters on a white background is basic graphic design
I mean, this is the same guy who got roasted on Hexbear for still being a chicken-nugget eater…
He has his own issues but I think getting absorbed into it should be fine…
Yeah JT seems to have difficulties engaging in self criticism sometimes…
Completely agree. I love the work that he has done with his channel and the podcast and have loads of respect for those reasons. But I still get some strong “huge ego” vibes from him sometimes in like the livestreams. Maybe that’s unfair, because most of what he says is humble enough, but then something slips out like the shit in the above screenshot, such a douchy ableist thing to say which he should know if he thought about it for more than 2 seconds. And the vegan thing, even if you’re not vegan, you should be able to see why the things he was saying about it was so completely tone-deaf and like the exact shit that liberals say to “tankies” when condescending to us. It’s a good reminder not to have “heroes” I guess.
Getting absorbed into what? The white background or the chicken nuggets?
I think the socialism part…
It doesn’t seem like you mentioned that it is bad for people with visual disability? He could have genuinely thought you were complaining about aesthetics? I guess it’s something that one into graphic design should know but when you don’t know you don’t know
Ugh we still have so far to go with ableism :(
Thank you for posting this! :)
Is the progressive liberals the one who initiate a new form of racism where they claim to be racist against black people for their culture instead of their imagined biological traits and the one who is behind the red fascist tankiejerking? The tankiejerkers do seem to oppose conservative Pax Americana activists like Donald Trump despite their blind support to Pax Americana in general and their support for reactionary in another name.
TL;DR: Controlled opposition
That’s not at all a good tl;dr. Liberals are only opposition to progress.
