        If you have damp feet in a tropical environment you get foot fungus. Even though they drain well, your feet will still be damp due to inefficient evaporation due to high humidity and little air circulation

          So I’m guessing the lack of absorption would compound the problem?

      Drainage is basically the definition of a “jungle boot” - anything waterproof isn’t going to breathe for shit in hot and humid conditions and you’re going to be dealing with swampy boots anyway. Wicking and drainage is pretty much where it’s at when you’re in hot and humid climates and don’t have an extra 1-2pair of boots to swap into once you swamp the first.
