Whoa! I just noticed in #firefox Nightly that if I right-click on some text, I can choose to translate the selection. Neat!
This is powered by Firefox's local translation mechanism, which doesn't ever send the text being translated out over the network. The translation all happens on your machine.

That’s not actually maintained by Mozilla. Its still operating on their own. I meant maintained directly by Mozilla stuff, as part of Firefox, not just the name of Mozilla slapped on it because they are the shareholders or like that. However, this is much better situation than I thought and thanks to this reference from you I am less worried now.
Mozilla bought the company behind Pocket in 2017, so the extension is actually maintained by Mozilla.
