Green and renewable are not synonyms.
Biomass is renewable (in theory, but what company under capitalism is EVER going to replant more than they cut. Plus it wrecks biodiversity)
Nuclear is green but not renewable.
Is it tho? Can we really have green energy production under capitalism? How can we achieve sustainability within a plan that is based on eternal growth?
Well that’s not a productive question. No shit nothing is going to be perfectly green under an exploitive system.
On the objective basis of evaluating the technologies, it’s green. That was the only statement I was making and if we reduce every discussion down to “capitalism bad :[”, something Lemmy generally is already VERY aware of, we get nowhere in any of these discussions.
