Regardless of what Biden does or doesn’t do, what is with this Pelosi kingmaker bullshit, and why does she have so much standing and influence despite having retired?

I mean she’s not dem leader anymore. I know she still represents CA as dean . I just find it strange I’ve seen so many articles mentioning her as though she’s still in charge.

        ———

Edit - and now the recent articles claiming Obama wants Biden to step down too, which is supposedly conjecture and hearsay. It all reads like a hit campaign of known democratic leadership names, and it seems really odd how little coverage there is of the various democratic representatives in full support of Biden.

Obama and Biden are really close friends. If he’s lost Obama’s confidence, that’s a really big deal that absolutely deserves media coverage. Also, Nancy Pelosi has a ton of clout in the Democratic party, that didn’t just disappear when she stepped down from leadership

She’s a top fundraiser in the party. She comes from a prominent district. She led the party through historic legislation. She knows what it’s like to step down from a position of power.

      Need I say more?

I honestly don’t know if it would be. It’d energy progressives, and I don’t know if it’d cost more “moderates.” They either are voting against Trump or not already, not for Biden most likely.

Biden handily beat Bernie in swing states during 2020 primaries. It sucks because I wish we didn’t have to worry about the EC. But we still do. So until it’s gone we’ll be stuck watching moderate candidates have the best path to winning.

In the primary? Sure. He was also the most well known. How it’d effect the general I don’t think is known, especially in this election of all elections. I don’t know anyone who’s voting for Biden. I know many who are voting against Trump, and for whatever the hell the democrats decide. I’m sure this is true for so many other voters, and I doubt having a progressive VP would change that

              -Arizona: Biden 44%, Bernie 33%

              -Wisconsin: Biden 63%, Bernie 32%

              -Michigan: Biden 53%, Bernie 36%

-Georgia doesn’t matter because Bernie dropped out by then but Biden still got 85%

These are all states Harris needs to win again. Where is this mythical progressive vote going to be energized from? It had a chance to pick Bernie again in the 2020 primaries. And did not show up. It sucks cause I voted Bernie 2016 and 2020. But the reality is swing states are where the election is won. And swing states skew moderate.

Again, the primary is not the general. Are the people who voted Biden here going to not vote for the dem candidate? Would some of the Bernie voters going to vote dem who wouldn’t vote for Biden? Talking about the primary in reference to the general isn’t very useful.

Whatever they decide, they’re going to put a lot of thought and money into picking the smartest option. If they go Harris AOC, I’m willing to bet that they knew it’d get the most votes.

The entire fucking point of the primary process is to pick the candidate more people said they’d vote for in the general.

Ignoring the results of that process is what got us Hillary. Who the DNC also assumed would get the most votes. Just like you’re making assumptions now without any supporting reasons other than opinion and hope.

I think and goddamm I hope I am wrong they are about to push Hillary back on us agaun. I heard she started making moves to come back out in the public and wonder what’s behind this.

They think we will be desperate enough that we will vote for her over Trump and they aren’t fucking far off. But Harris can’t win.

There’s no way they’d put the person who lost to Trump and made him president back on the ballot lmao

She may think she has a shot at it, or “deserves” it, who knows what’s going on in her brain. But there’s just absolutely no way she’ll ever end up on this ballot.

Trading her trades a day late wont make you much money unless you have plenty of money to throw at it. Trying to buy in the day everyone else does is more likely to lose you money on average.

If you really want to have an argument, tell your MAGA friend that Biden will be replaced by Hillary, and Kamala will remain as VP.
