As opposed to what? Spiritually motivated? Of course it is “economically motivated” . And politics follow the economy
I suppose it’s a threat to the cult of Manifest Destiny, Amerika über alles, and the blonde-haired blue-eyed capitalist Jesus and his pasty chosen people, if nothing else. They’re the spiritual foundations and raison d’être of the USA, and they’re barely holding on as-is thanks to a metric fuckton of copium and brain damage.
cult of Manifest Destiny, Amerika über alles, and the blonde-haired blue-eyed capitalist Jesus and his pasty chosen people
Which is all just superstructure to capitalist basis
i think national security was the excuse they used
Okay, but what does that mean? Was the implication that China was somehow using exports to physically attack USA? Or that it would be detrimental to USian markets and companies? If the latter - then “national security” is just economic motivation
Chips are used in guided missiles and remote targeting systems. China is capable of making the chips for these purposes already, but at greater cost and lower yield due to not yet having EUV capability.
Fair
Economics IS politics. There isn’t an “economy” that isn’t political.
That’s… Basically my point?
