Add a few cybertrucks and homeless people to 1 and you’ve got a pretty good representation of modern day Los Angeles

I mean yeah but nice thing is that 1 is inevitabely gonna be followed by 3. So i would just like to skip. But seriously it would be better to prevent 1 in the first place.

I think the idea is that parts of the world will be like number 1 (with people in it), and other parts of the world like numbers 2 and 3.

This is correct. You understand the 4th dimension 🙏

All three of those futures exist simultaneously in different parts of the world

Once you really get to know what humans are like, you’ll know we’re going to do all three. Probably simultaneously.

I like the world in Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers. She does lots of good wholesome sci-fi, and the setting in that one specifically has the same vibe as the bottom image

Weekday if I despise bicycles? Hate riding them, despise it. Or if you’re handicapped and literally can’t? How does this work in a careless society? You’d have to fix transit first globally and that’s never gonna happen. I live in one of the world’s biggest cities and our transit system is pathetic. I’m actually looking for a car now cause I can no longer justify waiting and sitting in transit for 2 hours to travel 20km

Work from home, walk, use transit, a wheelchair or the lots of other options of green transport. There are a lot of different solutions for that and just because North America can not built a somewhat working public transport system, does not mean it is impossible. Seriously if cities lack decent government run public transport they usually have share taxis for the service.

So please do not pretend it is impossible. It is just that North America is in the situation of most everybody being able to afford a car and government run public transport being horrible.

Also just because it is not on a picture does not mean it does not exist. Most people can ride a bicycle and especially e-bikes.
