This has taken a long time to get this far, must try it again…
Install was painless and completed in under 60sec, boot was fast, maybe not as fast as the good old BE5 and it seems to work.
If you’re the kind of nerd who likes wearing tshirts for podcasts and software projects, you can support the project by buying a shirt with this cool logo. I got mine recently and people seem to like it / ask about it.
Where?
At the project’s official website.
Thanks!
curious what people are asking and where you are when this happens? I would be shocked if I was just walking around my local grocery store and someone has any clue what Haiku is.
A security guard where I work asked me about it. I told him it’s a software project and he told me it’s a poem format. I told him I was aware of the original meaning.
A friend liked the design and asked about it. Two questions after only wearing it three times is a pretty good return for a new shirt. I buy a lot of shirts with neat designs and only a handful garner comments or questions.
This beta OS
Looks minimal, simple, fast
Maybe I’ll try it
just be aware that there’s only one user and it’s root
Your warning I heed
Running as root is risky
Time for firewalls
i was trying to run minecraft on that os (spoiler it didnt work and idk if this is releated) but the install was quite fast and i was using openjdk
How long til they can get a Rust Kernel committee to really decelerate progress?
But seriously, great to see progress keep chugging.
