House Bill 1365 prohibits camping on streets, sidewalks, and in parks. Cities and counties are required to provide temporary shelter, where individuals experiencing homelessness will receive drug and mental health treatment.

OK my fellow libs. You OK with the homeless camping in your streets, sidewalks and parks? Surely you are! You cannot possibly be NIMBY assholes can you?!

Maybe put your money where your mouth is? Offer the next homeless guy you see a place on your couch. Why not? They too dirty and addicted and insane? All it takes is a couple of months to stand them up, isn’t that right? So take some fucking personal responsibility. (I already know the answer: "NO! WE don’t take responsibility! Responsibility is the governments responsibility! As long an it’s NIBMY!)

AGREED! If Libtards want HOMELESS PEOPLE to have Rights why don’t they OPEN up THEIR doors instead of Advocating for Affordable Housing Social Safety Nets and OTHER things that would help the Homeless. The ONLY way to Show your Support is letting them Sleep on your COUCH!

Let’s move towards making housing affordable. We know there’s not enough housing for our population, so need to build more. Currently housing is used as investments and so there’s incentive to keep it scarse, so maybe need to make it less appealing as an investment. Maybe that means increasing pay; we had a generation that fought hard for a 40 hour work week, but companies took a dump on that generation’s accomplishment by making 40 hours not enough to live off of.

Maybe we need to get better at helping people recover from tragedies. Like people who lost their house to a hurricane and are getting dicked over by insurance. Or people who had a serious enough medical issue that they burned through disability and got laid off while also being saddled with enormous medical debt. Or people who never had a job because they stayed at home to raise a family who find themselves becoming the bread-winner, maybe because their spouse suddenly died or turned seriously abusive where the family needed to escape.

Certainly there will always be some people who are homeless because they continue to make bad decisions, maybe we don’t have to criminalize people existing and doubly so if they are trying but are just victims of the systems we put in place.

The passage of the bill you cited makes sense. Not sure what you’re upset about. Outlaw camping on the streets, instead offer temporary housing to people struggling with homelessness
