Ishido is an interesting puzzle game for the GameBoy. I seem to be not very good at it, but i think I might get better since I seem to have understood the rules now more or less. It’s a bit of shape and pattern matching.

    @[email protected] It’s quite simple actually. You can place a piece next to another piece if it either matches the shape or the color (or infill pattern in this case). If there are two or more neighbouring pieces to a spot, at least one has to match the shape and at least one has to match the color/pattern. The more neighbouring pieces there are, the more points you score. The dark border pieces will not gain any points.

    @[email protected] My usual strategy in this game is to vary shapes horizontally and colors/patterns vertically, preferably in the center region. If that’s not possible for a piece, I try to put it somewhere along the border (while still maintaining that scheme there as good as possible).
