This database contains obvious ai generated pictures and chinese movie stars. In other words, a hoax.

The supposed “camps” were schools to deradicalize and educate sympathizers of jihadism and enable them to find jobs, the pupils could leave over the weekends. The programm, and thus the schools, ended 2019.

The west made up all kinds of shit, without any strong evidence whatsoever. Provided evidence turned out to be manufactured or at least highly suspicious, in no way enough to satisfy the burden of proof, which is on the accusing party. In short, the accusing party, the west, lied.

Also, the article is extremely vague considering this is apparently such a major operation. More than half the text is pure speculation and they even say it can’t be independently verified.

The key is when they mention “basement of buildings”. Basically during battles if a Russian unit captures Ukrainian soldiers, they put them in the basement of the building they are currently holding positions in and guard them. There’s also reports they’ve done this with civilians in some cases early in the war, that they’ve suspected to be betraying their positions to the Ukrainian army.

We can discuss whether the reasons for doing this to civilians is legitimate or not. But basements used ad hoc as a cell by soldiers literally fighting on the front lines, while waiting for transport to take the prisoner away to a safer location, to be called as concentration camps is the ultimate straw-grabbing.
