I am just wondering… is it me- or is there a LOT of just general negativity here.
Every other post I see is…
- America is bad.
- Capitalism is bad. Socialism/Communism is good.
- If you don’t like communism, you are a fascist nazi.
Honestly, it’s kind of killing my mood with Lemmy. There are a few decent communities/subs here, but, the quality of content appears to be falling.
I mean, FFS. It can’t just be me that is noticing this. It honestly feels like I am supporting a communist platform here.
I am on social media to post and read about things related to technology, automation, race cars, etc.
Every other technology post, is somebody bashing on Elon Musk (actually- that is deserved), or talking about Reddit (Let it go. Seriously. We are here, it is there).
On my hobby of liking racecars, I guess, half of the people on lemmy feel it is OK to vandalize a car for being too big… and car hate culture is pretty big.
All of this is really turning off my mood regarding lemmy.
I don’t stick to true libertarianism. It’s not the way.
But, i’d rather be associated with them, over being either liberal/democrat or conservative/republican. None of the parties are perfect, and only idiots will blindly believe and follow any individual party. But- that’s a different story, for another time.
I am just sitting back, observing the interesting voting behaviour occurring on this post.
I’m a leftist, it works. I don’t align with the democratic party, but they align with me a whole lot more than Republicans. And I am extremely against deregulation. Are there stupid regulations that benefit rich people? Yes. Does that mean we shouldn’t have regulations? F no. There’s a third option, it’s not rocket science, fix the broken regulations. Corporations will never regulate themselves, history (both past and present) has shown that. Wait why am I ranting about this again?
Hey, that typically means you have the capability of thinking for yourself.
I’d honestly agree with basically every point you just made.
One thing I learned a long time back- I have an uncle who is quite liberal. Myself, I usually stick more on the conservative side. The funny thing is- if we actually talk about a current hot topic… we actually find we usually end up agreeing on things, after you remove the political element of it.
Universal healthcare? Yea. we need this. It needs to happen. But, the method of how, is the tricky part. I personally, have zero faith in our government to manage something, without royally fucking it up, and hemorrhaging money and resources. I mean… let’s be honest, they can’t even fix a damn pothole.
