You have absolutely no power over your chances of winning the lottery, but you have power over how you may teach your children. Your lack of knowledge can be fixed by discussing it with other parents (perhaps your own parents, they did raise a good person, wouldn’t you agree?).

You definitely did not have the same chances as a kid from a rich family though. It’s those chances a parent should consider. And the op of this threat is appears to have considered them insufficiently good to be acceptable for a kid.
