On this page here, there are columns for:
Name–Subscribers–Users / month–Posts–Comments
When you hover the mouse over the column labels, it looks like you can click them to sort the page, but nothing happens when you click. It would be cool if you could sort by Users/month or Subscribers when looking for communities to subscribe to, both if you are looking for big communities or smaller ones. Does anyone know if that’s something the devs are considering?
The development radar is likely focused on existential performance and community moderation features for the next little while, and the volume of improvement ideas accumulating between now and when other features might get attention makes it hard to know what will see action first. If you’re not an engineer capable of producing a pull-request to make Lemmy do this, I recommend using https://lemmyverse.net/communities. It already has the sorting you wish. Yeah, it sucks to have to use a other site… but… there’s another site and it’s good so mebbe use it.
Thank you so much for the link! I know they’re all terribly busy right now (and for the foreseeable future), I was mostly just curious because of the cursor change on mouseover.
