The catch up stuff is awesome, but I don’t have the time to play regularly so it’s not as big for me personally. The permanent relaxing of Noaxhis requirements is very, very welcome.
All in all, I’m happy to be seeing regularly update messages. The monthly letter is very nice to have.
I am not 100% certain, but from reading the in-game announcement it looks to me like the grasta halved cost catch-up campaign might end literally today or tomorrow (if it does not continue indefinitely, but I am not certain which is the case:-D). Even if you don’t have time to sort through and prioritize and such, you may want to pop in and just randomly upgrade anything that looks remotely like it may be useful in the future - e.g. anything at all that can be shared, etc. - just to be absolutely certain to avoid having to pay double the price for delaying that process until later (which can take many months of grinding to earn the materials for).
All the catch-up campaigns are running until we catch up. The compiled campaign page they’re now maintaining is super handy for checking that kind of thing. https://api-ap.another-eden.games/asset/notice_v2/view/436?q=172488728&token=76a917d21f2c260b15fe54571c54971b&language=en
Absolutely, although I thought somehow from looking at that on my phone that I saw Sept. 5 or 6 in the other right-most column somewhere. Ah, and here I see it: https://api-ap.another-eden.games/asset/notice_v2/view/434?q=803633726&token=77bae260480d1843d1dfcff3028cebe7&language=en - it was the “A special gift to commemorate Ensemble: Commander and Sheep”, that raised the daily CS to 50. Okay, whew, so grasta enhancements are safe until… what are we expecting, mid-October now I think? (at least https://anothereden.wiki/w/Upcoming_Content says “Main Story: Chronos Empire Strikes Back Part 2” is expected then, along with Bell… & Kam… (is this a way we can treat spoilers here?:-P), it having been released in JP a week and a half ago - and I at least thought that those two events were expected to be correlated?
No spoiler tags here unfortunately. I’ve just been going for the most oblique possible reference to things to cover spoilers.
My guess is that the catch-up will be later than that. Possibly November, or maybe even December, in time for the collab (if there is one this year), which would be simultaneous anyway, so a good event for them to aim for to celebrate catching up.
Oh wow, so a LOT longer than I was thinking… maybe. Thanks for the tip - maybe that’ll help me prepare, since as a completionist I am going to upgrade a LOT of grastas, that I will in all likelihood never end up using:-).
Even reducing the costs of the TTM cannot entice me to go there - I just hate it. I wish they would spend time to actually fix it, not just slap an advertising campaign onto it and walk away leaving it as-is:-(.
That said, for anyone wondering, getting Noahxis is a good minimum requirement to aim for, as he will receive an upgrade soon, making him the first free/story character in the game who will offer a barrier piercing skill.
I actually enjoy the TTM, but it’s not something I play often. Getting a satisfying build down to destroy everything and being able to take characters who would never otherwise be a viable party is quite pleasing. And then when I don’t get the drops I need during a run to make that run as destructive as I’d like, it’s still fun to figure out how to adjust my approach to still make it work. The QoL they added to allow people to pause runs at any time is absolutely critical, though. I wouldn’t have been able to deal with it prior to that happening.
I have been wanting to run more of it to make more progress in the rewards, so this is good incentive for that.
However, I completely get how it wouldn’t be to everyone’s liking, and that’s also fine. This game has scope for so many different play styles that you can focus on the things you enjoy.
I really dislike its horrible UI/UX, with such tiny fonts and such, and the mismatch between the relaxing music vs. how you are supposed to move forward cautiously to avoid the horrors, and especially how you are not free to “explore” as you are literally everywhere else in the game, and how so much stuff is not explained anywhere e.g. what is all that Type+ gear doing there when there seems hardly any skills that even make use of it, and so on.
I’ve actually enjoyed rogue games in the past and even silly rogue lite ones like with the top-down view and you just go, but I do tend to not enjoy the “lite” part most of all (e.g. what is even the point then, why do it at all if nothing matters?), preferring instead the build-up over time aspect of an RPG, like Lufia’s dungeon where you got the chests that you could both take outside and also bring back inside the maze with you on a subsequent run.
I’m glad you can enjoy it but the mismatch where it looks superficially like Another Eden but then behaves entirely differently is too jarring for me to really let go and have fun with it.
But if I’m honest, while all of that is a factor, it really all boils down to the UI/UX. I literally feel insulted when I see it, as in like even WFS does not seem to care much about this mini game, so why should I?:-P
