I actually enjoy the TTM, but it’s not something I play often. Getting a satisfying build down to destroy everything and being able to take characters who would never otherwise be a viable party is quite pleasing. And then when I don’t get the drops I need during a run to make that run as destructive as I’d like, it’s still fun to figure out how to adjust my approach to still make it work. The QoL they added to allow people to pause runs at any time is absolutely critical, though. I wouldn’t have been able to deal with it prior to that happening.

I have been wanting to run more of it to make more progress in the rewards, so this is good incentive for that.

However, I completely get how it wouldn’t be to everyone’s liking, and that’s also fine. This game has scope for so many different play styles that you can focus on the things you enjoy.

I really dislike its horrible UI/UX, with such tiny fonts and such, and the mismatch between the relaxing music vs. how you are supposed to move forward cautiously to avoid the horrors, and especially how you are not free to “explore” as you are literally everywhere else in the game, and how so much stuff is not explained anywhere e.g. what is all that Type+ gear doing there when there seems hardly any skills that even make use of it, and so on.

I’ve actually enjoyed rogue games in the past and even silly rogue lite ones like with the top-down view and you just go, but I do tend to not enjoy the “lite” part most of all (e.g. what is even the point then, why do it at all if nothing matters?), preferring instead the build-up over time aspect of an RPG, like Lufia’s dungeon where you got the chests that you could both take outside and also bring back inside the maze with you on a subsequent run.

I’m glad you can enjoy it but the mismatch where it looks superficially like Another Eden but then behaves entirely differently is too jarring for me to really let go and have fun with it.

But if I’m honest, while all of that is a factor, it really all boils down to the UI/UX. I literally feel insulted when I see it, as in like even WFS does not seem to care much about this mini game, so why should I?:-P
