I (27F) live in a pretty rough area of the South West. My partner (M26) and I have only owned our house for about 2 years and have had to call the police about 6 times due to drunks, burglars, and other mayhem happening either in our home or a house very close to ours.

We regularly find people nicking stuff out the front, messing about in our front garden etc. It’s like we are a magnet for crazies!

My partner is going to the US for 3 months in November, and the thought of being alone in the house is a bit ominous.

What steps can I take to feel more secure in our home and dissuade people from trying anything funny? We have a “Warning: Dog” sticker in the front window and a lock on the back gate. Any other ideas appreciated!
