The community cannot be killed. Just remember the other tankie subreddits (that I will not name). We always come back.
This subreddit, however, will retain the same purpose as an educational space, it will not replace genzedong. No changes will be made on genzhou.

Reddit wants a controlled opposition. Eliminate everyone that is a real threat to the status quo and maintain the illusion of an opposition and “debate” by allowing the non-threats.
Any uncontrolled opposition is eliminated when it reaches a size or state of being that makes it a threat to those maintaining the current status quo.
Archive everything on GenZhou because despite it being completely and totally 100% fine as a community it may be hit if Genzedong is banned, much like every single subreddit under the “chapo” banner or even remotely related to it got killed.
If GenZhou is included it is the strongest sign that it has nothing to do with rules and everything to do with simply purging oppositional threats.

I feel like I saw this same comment 3 years ago. Except replace every mention of r/GenZeDong with r/The_Donald and you’ll have the same exact comments The_Donald users were making while their subreddit was dying. Sad

Their comments were the same but their situation was different, reddit did absolutely everything it could to be nice to them and to try and keep them. Reddit has done absolutely nothing to try and build a positive relationship with the left.
If the entire population of /r/genzedong moved to /r/socialism with almost no change in moderation, /r/socialism would also be killed off by reddit because it would become an immediate threat to the status quo with its high activity level and the quality of the arguments put forwards.
None of this has anything to do with moderation choices. It is a political repression. T_D on the other hand had a belligerent modteam that was uninterested in reining in some of the problems that existed. It wasn’t politically repressed in the same way, Spez is far right and I suspect a majority of the techbros in reddit are psychotic libertarian ancap age-of-consent types.
