So I love using lemmy, but I browse all a lot in order to discover more communities as Lemmy is still growing a lot.
However, I’m really annoyed with the lemmit.online bot. For those unfamiliar, users can request the bot to automatically x-post popular post to Lemmy. The annoying thing is that these posts are almost never interacted with as they are clearly marked as bot posts.
I can’t seem to find a way to block the user account or lemmit.online as a whole.
Anyone face the same issue and have a solution?

Cheers, thank you! From what I can see, there’s also no way to block that user, or to filter out certain key phrases? (As the bot always prefaces the post with the same phrase, it could be filtered out in that way).
I’m on the App Store version 0.1

Some apps like Connect let you block keywords, instances, etc. Ive blocked the whole lemmit instance for the same reason as you. Ideally Lemmy adds this feature at some point.
You should be able to block the lemmit user and community in the meantime.
You could always just toggle off/uncheck the ‘show bot accounts’ option in your account settings, that’s what I have done…👍🏼
I ended up blocking the account via the web interface.
You can do it in-app too. Click on the username, then hit the three-dot menu at the top right. “Block User” will be an option.
I was able to just block the user but I had to do it from the desktop site. Blocking wasn’t working for me from any of the apps at the time. Login on the website and click on the bot username then there will be a Block User button from their page. You won’t see their posts anymore from the website or the app your using.
Thanks! This is the most obvious answer, no more annoying Lemmit posts in my all feed.
EDIT: I didn’t see I was in the Memmy community… whoops! Still the advice remains generally valid 😅
It depends on the front end you are using, but generally speaking clicking/tapping on the username should bring you on the profile, where the block option is. It could be hidden behind some submenu/hamburger menu/three dots. But it should be there. Worst case the app you are using has not implemented it yet: try to take a look on the web interface and do it from there.
I blocked the bot days ago and being only it doing the reposting I’m basically not seeing the instance anymore.
The Nuclear option is to go in your profile and disable the bot accounts, but that would make invisible to you all the account marked as bots, which can be overkill.
