Its certainly hypocritical. But from their point of view its not entirely wrong. Elon stopped censoring my points of views but he’s deleted a few anti musk folk.

So I think what they are saying about the protocol is good and right.

A person can have a relay dedicated to being gay or one dedicated to being a Muslim or Christian and you the user can see content from both even when they don’t want you to.

It solves the defederation problem. Which is that

“I can’t see a user or community im following if my admin decides he doesn’t want me to.”

I thought it was openly recognized that Twitter was aware of the state censorship on their platform. The hearing documents certainly seems to show that.

Yes. The point they are making is that Elon promised to bring free speech but he ended up deleting speech because he has the power to do it.

Are you saying that Elon Musk have banned people for being anti-Elon Musk? I thought it was related to posting private information like real time location of vehicles transporting his children and similar?

Yes. Here are a couple examples thus far.

          1. Elon began to censor any accounts that talked about migrating to mastadon. He backtracked after several people quit. This is when and why Geohot left his intern position with him.

          2. Elon is already deleting links to Threads. I hate threads but still that is him doing censorship.

          3. Under elon my account was banned for posting pictures of Eliza Blue twerking in a public youtube video.

I didn’t believe the other things you said, so why should I believe this?

I don’t think I want to hear any more about nostr, I think the foundation it’s built upon is disgusting, the stated reasons to use it seems false and… Well, I think you understand my point.

Fair enough friend. You don’t have to like it. It doesn’t have to be for everybody. I don’t really enjoy most of it right now. But the idea makes sense to me. I’m not sure of it’s scalability but the fact that you own your identity and no one else does I believe to be the correct approach on decentralized social media and the fediverse is to problematic with mass defederation for me to contribute to it any further. It’s just turned out to be worse than facebook or twitter for me.
