Those guys have way too much faith in humanity. Like it’s frighteningly common how often people try to sue for broken ribs after someone performs CPR on them.

Like you think the average Karen is going to pass up any opportunity to sue someone? Especially if House was midly sassy towards them?

Oh a running theme in the show is just how much House costs the hospital. They just keep him on because of donations that come in from people who he’s helped as well as the fact that he is able to help people no one else can.

In reality… no hospital will be that altruistic.

Not so much donations as Cuddy considers him a “necessary evil” for the greater good - he’s expensive, irresponsible and kind of an asshole, but genius enough to get away with it because otherwise People Would Die. Even in season 1 (I think), Business Guy Chi McBride takes over as chairman and wants to axe the whole department because it’s that much of a money sink.

Says more about the state of our Healthcare/insurance system than it does about people in general.

I don’t think they would even need to be a Karen, just someone already in a horrific amount of medical debt facing a lifetime of additional costs and problems and not many good options for dealing with it.
