I know we aren’t the best but I can’t believe people had wolves as genuine title contenders. Too much talent in that squad to go down and there are way many worse teams

Spurs’s start is impressive but I wouldn’t get carried away just yet. They’ve only played one game against top opposition (which they won under dubious circumstances) and their other wins have come against relegation fodder and bottom half teams.

Also -and the fact that they can focus fully on the league with no Europe is hiding this- but they’re one or two injuries away from disaster, as their squad is thin and the drop off in quality from starters to backups is drastic.

I do expect them to finish top 4 this season, but the best they can hope for is something similar to Arsenal last season: brilliant start; top of the league for most of the season; drop off towards the end to finish in second place behind City.

Just keeping half an eye on Sheffield United goals conceded. That is a record that I’d be happy for Swindon to get rid of…

It would be so spursy if we led the league 90 percent of the year and didn’t win it. Can’t fathom that happening to any north London team, now THAT is bottling

So much for not winning a game all season like so many said we wouldn’t

Does the table factor in the replay we’re going to have to play with Liverpool?

To think if ollie watkins didnt hit the post and scored against wolves we’d be second in the league is crazy man.

Everyone talking about Spurs but i really think unai has done an incredible job for us, with so many first team player injuries, its wild, Mings, moreno, ramsey, buendia, all potential starters.

Tell me about it. Fair play to them, we wasnt at our best tbh.

Funny how people are downvoting me, weird when its literally fact were playing well, 11 home wins on the bounce is no easy feat. Plus 4 home games 17 goals is crazy, its like a dream to us villa fans, were not used to it.

3rd since youd be behind on GD 🙂 But yes, Villa have looked really good, esp at home. The worrying part for you would be the big losses in your games against competition for top4 (1-5 Newcastle, 0-3 Liverpool) but some of that gets erased from memory with the battering of Brighton I suppose.

Ye didnt think of the GD. It is worrying but i suppose if we can beat the majority of teams below 5th and the odd few above that would be more than enough.

Our real worry is the tiredness after ECL games during the week. Especially if we get further into the competition.
