It happens quickly, too. America’s torture program was never tried or prosecuted (aside from some low-level soldiers), and has been largely memory-holed. Many of those war criminals are still in power and have since been promoted within the military-industrial complex.
Guantanamo bay is still open so the “democratic nation” has an area that is basically no laws. I don’t understand American values in this circumstance but most of the time idiots don’t have good values. If they did Edward Snowden would have killed the NSA program.
