We don’t often get talked about or the attention in foreign media about something positive, and for that we are glad. This squad fully deserves the recognition. But saying they are rejects is something I find pretty offensive. I understand some of them did not fit in some teams or perhaps they were expected better and did not find their place in that moment in time, but rejects goes too far.
Don’t even link that trash.

Daily Mail, literally no credibility whatsoever.
The article doesn’t say what op claimed it did. So the DM isn’t the one with a credibility problem here
It’s a nothing article written by someone at the DM who has little else to do but run the clock down for the day, don’t look too far into it.
Daily Mail moment, cant have a team just be happy theyre doing well huh
The Turkish league also is worth about 1/10th of what the English league is worth. Hell Manchester City is more valuable then the entirety of the Turkish League combined, and Fener is worth 1/4th of Manchester United, and they beat them anyway. Like of course youre gonna be better when youre literally the financial powerhouse of football ffs
It was Galatasaray who beat Utd. Fenerbahce would probably not be able to extend their streak that long if they were playing in the CL.
I know people are shitting on the Mail here but this isn’t an uncommon thing for people here to say. They said it about us in 2019/20 when we had Sanchez, Young and Lukaku and managed to make all three of them perform well.
I read the article and there is no mention of the club winning just because of the pl rejects, they only mentioned how many players in the squad have pl experience.
Fenerbahce’s squad has a load of players who played in the Premier League and were a bit shit or are now past their peaks, but are now playing in Turkey, where the standard is much lower and they’re doing well. What’s the issue?
It’s often been seen as the traditional path from the PL to Turkey too, either struggling or aging players joining one of the bigger teams (with CL football) for a slower but still competitive league with very passionate fans.
Not many highly rated PL players in their prime head to Turkey and it was often seen as a good place for clubs to offload their deadwood to.
Tadic was never bad in PL. He wanted to leave for Ajax. Southampton never rejected him.
That’s why I said ‘or are now past their peaks’.
I meant disrespectful not offensive. Sorry about that.
