It always annoys me that people call each other by name in movies.

Yeah, it’s so you know who the characters are, but who actually does that in real life?

Imagine you’reblind and a new scene starts, and you dont know what characters are on set. You dont know who walks in halfway through the scene.

Helps a lot announcing every character in this way.

Lots of people in lots of cultures do… In fact, I call both of my siblings by name, and that’s the usual way of greeting hierarchically equal or inferior members of family in my culture.

My fam call by name all the time. In fact most of the time we miscall the name and bug each other over it. Sometimes we even flip through all the names before landing on the right one when addressing each other

Urdr-krist-bri-malomar(made up names for obvious reasons)

Then we bug our mom by going by each others names.

Occasionally we even call each others names backwards or add accents and hyphens to them.

Pretty normal where I live tbh. Kids use each other’s names for each other 99% of the time. It would be ultra weird to use “brother/sister” in daily speech. That’s how it’s written in shitty books and TV novellas over here tbh…

I call my friends by name all the time. One of them walks into wherever we’re gathering, and I’ll call out Nick and give my boy a hug for example.
