I think Bayern deserved to win as they are several steps above from us at both creating and finishing chances. It’s just that in the last decade, we were getting battered by teams like PSG, Real etc. and now, with a bit of luck, we could’ve defeated Bayern in the both rounds, that’s why all Gala fans sound like we played like the best football and complaining about refereeing etc. Because “Bayern 2-1 Galatasaray” is a surprising scoreboard as you guys are used to destroy what comes across you in the groups and it could be even surprising if ref gave that second yellow to Davies.
We have some clear issues that I believe be resolved in a few months:
- Terrible goal conversion rate
- You cannot miss chances you get against Bayern but even against no-name teams in Super Lig, we usually have like 25 shoots and 3 something XG, 6 big chances and the score is 1-0
- Fitness level
- We do aggressive pressing and it just works imo. Like we give some chances at the back of course but that’s something that’s gonna happen regardless of the team. However, after 70 mins, the team gets so tired and the chances we give become a much bigger issue while we cannot press that effectively too. If we were able to increase that to maybe 80 mins, then it would be better.
Still, I am proud of my team, we were not like a Pot 4 team, had some clear chances and I believe that we’ll make it to the Round of 16s.
- Terrible goal conversion rate
Every time I watch Bayern I just get so happy that Kane didn’t join Real Madrid.
Kane in his current form being fed by Vinicius, Rodrygo and Bellingham might as well have not bothered with La Liga and just given Madrid the title.
im starting to like this Pokal rest day more and more
Kane 🔥🔥🔥
Can we start calling Bayern the Harry Kane team yet?
i like how bayern are slowly realising that passing to kane in a decent position = goal
First game for António Nobre in the Champions League. He has had some great games in Portugal, but also had a few stinkers. I was rooting for a good performance from him, I have to watch the game and see how was the refereeing, since Reddit is clearly not to be trusted. Any neutral opinions, or from someone into refereeing?
Probably not neutral at all but there were two big mistakes in my opinion. First, he didn’t give the second yellow card to Davies after his foul with Baris. Second, after the first VAR check was done for the first goal, he stopped the game for a second check. Which is a rule violation.
I think he lacked some consistency and was prone to falling for dives.
He wasn’t exceptionally bad, but he wasn’t great as well.
It is impossible to win against Bayern Munich’s lobby. First goal of Kane was offside. The Munich player, who was offside, was blocking Gala player by pulling his shirt, side-ref saw it and VAR saw it, thus came 2 VAR reviews. But they didn’t have balls to call it. Davies should have booked the second yellow and sent off. He did a sliding tackle from behind to Barış Alper who was about to enter the box.
Then you see Bayern bragging about 40 matches without loss… With Bayern’s lobby at UEFA, it could have been 100 matches easily. This game was robbed.
