Wouldn’t be surprised if we lose to NM, prompting a national debate which unsettled the team with our best chance in decades. Panicked last minute changes to the team, to placate the vocal minority, lead to being dumped out at the first knockings, and The Sun and certain sections of social media blames the player with the darkest skin. It’s at tale as old as time.

Grealish has been injured for most of the season- And even then, since returning, he’s been one of our best players.

I’d be surprised if anyone new comes into the squad for the euros. I can only see James, Shaw and Chilwell being included. Maybe Sterling if Rashford form persists.

I’d be livid if I was JWP or Gordon

Pleased for Johnstone but lack of Pope is baffling when Ramsdale isn’t playing regularly.

Southgate, for better or worse, has never picked players on how frequently they are playing

Throw Maguire into the mix too when there’s probably other defenders playing regularly/better than him. Nice to see Tomori in the squad after people saying he wasn’t getting picked because he wasn’t playing in the Prem. Not sure if Henderson still being picked has anything to do with it.

Feel like Southgate keeps including Henderson just to spite everyone who talks shit about him and says we need a new manager, because he’s definitely not doing it for footballing reasons.

Glad he’s getting rest tbh, he’s looked dead on his feet the last couple games. If he keeps playing this well, his time will come

Yeah he wasn’t particularly fluid vs Dortmund but no really was for Newcastle. Apart from livramento, he looked good.

Usually, I’d be with you, but this time I’m thrilled. He desperately needs a break, looked wrecked against Dortmund.

Curtis, Gomes,Gordon and Gibbs-white were all so good in the u21s euros and now they are not eligible for the youth teams. Isn’t it sensible to give any of them a callup atleast against malta or north macedonia rather than calling up players with no gametime? Also Gordon is performing way better than rashford.

There’s a theory Southgate wants to win EURO 2024 and then quit on a high so isn’t doing any groundwork for beyond that.

But even if that was true, there are some older selections in the squad who aren’t better than the younger players coming through in the here and now.

Can’t imagine being English and seeing Henderson as a legit regular call up. I know we called up Krychowiak from the same shithole, but we have 3 straight thinking midfielders at best. Having England’s talent pool and going for the captain of Al Ettifaq is just pathetic.

There’s zero incentive to get in form for Southgate world. I’m starting to think he doesn’t even watch games.

Seeing as we’ve already qualified I think this would’ve been a good time to call up Ezri Konsa.

Who knows what the injury situation could be by next summer and it’d be a benefit to have a bit of experience, even if it’s just training with the squad.
