The way Maddison went down looked strange for spraining an ankle. Replay didn’t show any twisting motion. Looked more like some type of an Achilles injury to me but hopefully not.
That’s what I thought too when I first saw it. Didn’t really seem to twist it, more like he just pulled up suddenly which is never good. But I thought he was walking on it after, if it was a serious Achilles problem I doubt he could. Hopefully he’s alright
You could weight bear on a partially ruptured achilles, but it could still require a few months to heal.
Tendons do not get the same blood supply as muscle, so they take a lot longer to heal.
I swear I remember Sky showing an angle of him pulling up holding his hammy
Tough for him. It’s always a matter of when not if for an injury.
Mate, it’s Tottenham.
The amount of people so gleeful about injuries for us is quite distasteful
You should see the casemiro thread.
BY GWAD IS THAT LO CELSO MUSIC??
Is anyone really surprised, Isn’t this James Maddison’s M.O…
Play really well for a few weeks, then get injured for 2 months… Repeat.
How? Im looking and he averaged like 35 starts in the last 6 years around 40 games played per season. Transfermarkt says he was only injured for more than a month twice. It looks like he mostly missed England games than Leicester games.
Maddison and injuries, no one saw that coming.
9 possibly 10 games out for him and van de Ven. That’s going to hurt any club, and especially Spurs since these are among their two best players. Spurs should be looking for top four anyway and I think they can still get it what with no European football.
Fs my FPL team is in bits now
poor ange. all he did was literally stand there
Wolves away is suddenly looking a lot more tricky than it did a week ago
This is Matt Law, given that he didn’t say Maddison is dead, him missing international duty is probably just a precaution.
Always sad to see a player get hurt, he was cooking for them.
This was always going to happen. It’s sp*rs
So many injuries this season across all the clubs, seems to be impacting the Top 7 quite badly.
Apart from City of course who just have De Bruyne out and definitely aren’t taking PED’s to keep their injuries in check. Arsenal did it with ‘vitamin’ injections in the 90’s
Everyone does that. It’s a multi-billion dollar industry where players can make generational wealth. Anyone who thinks PED usage isn’t rife at the top levels of every major sport is naive as hell.
With city’s players often flying out to see the doctor Pep has been using since he was a player (pep got caught twice for drug cheating whilst working with this doctor)
City just have an incredibly strong squad, they can sub anyone and lose very little quality.
They also control their games and aren’t doing quite as many full field sprints to track back. Or, at the very least, that’s what I suspect the stats will back up.
Except Rodri apparently
True, but every team would struggle without their most important player
It’s definitely the knock-on effects from the mid-season WC i reckon
A lot of teams had american preseasons aswell, playing on those pitches fucked over Arsenal
Yeah I’m wondering if teams will be avoiding American tours next summer especially after the euros. I think it’d be pretty cool to just do a local tour
