Mbappe did have some luck in terms of not suffering any injuries that could have hampered him reaching this milestone as fast as he did.

I recall Messi suffering from muscle injuries at the start as he was breaking out, which really sorta prevented him from having a consistent run of games.

Unlike Mbappe, Ronaldo had a much steeper learning curve before he really established himself and was regarded as star player. In that aspect, when mbappe, broke out he was regarded as one of the top talents to ever play.

What’s nuts is that there were already “is Messi the best player of all time” shouts when he was mbappe’s current age.

God it’s kind of irritating how u guys constantly mention Messi with any other player. Like it’s established he’s the best ever, there’s no need to constantly compare

I can’t find it now but wasn’t it mbappe who had a kit made celebrating a goal milestone that included goals at practice? I swear that happened and I can’t find it. Feel i am going crazy.

For me the most impressive thing about this record is that by having scored 300 goals, he’s already outscored a lot of great strikers I’ve seen when I was younger like Trezeguet, Luca Toni, Inzaghi, Torres…

Scoring 300 goals and winning a world cup and multiple league titles is already an amazing career by most standards, but he’s not 25 yet and hopefully has plenty more years.

The stat also include goals with the national team so in theory he still hasn’t surpassed them, but he will obviusly do it soon

Ronaldo playing as a middfielder and then a winger and still making top 5 shows how amazing he was back then, and the crazy ammount of goals after 30 too.

He’s not even a pure striker like some others on this list. Messi scoring that many as a winger for most of his career is insane.

300 goals is mind boggling he is truly a historical player already. The only thing left to see from him is that successful transition in his game when he inevitably loses that edge of explosive pace he has. If he finds a way to still be equally as effective through the years he really has the potential to join that elusive table those two sit at. Long way to go for that though.

Fucking absurd that Messi had 300 goals by the age of 25 while playing in La Liga which was the #1 league for the majority of his career while legendary strikers like Ibrahimovic scored 300 by the age of 31

I’m surprised Messi was #2. His first few seasons he was not a big goal scorer, it took him until year 4 before he started really banging them in.
