If you don’t like PSG, remember that they’ll get robbed in the last eight or quarter-finals against Barcelona, Real, United or whoever. For every favorable decision granted to PSG, 5 are given to their opponents.

I don’t care about PSG but you’re now basically through rather than likely eliminated due to one of the worst decisions anyone will see this season.

Surely you’re not dumb enough to think anyone cares about some imagined decision that might go against you several rounds later.

I would have took a draw if any of the dozens of gilt edge chances PSG had went in, but this bizarre pen is a shit way to end the game.

I’d take Arteta’s emotional investment anyday instead of all this PR Machines.

lost vs one of the farmers league club. Not enough money in english league maybe to buy the best players in the world? What a shame. I wouldn’t want to be in your shoes.

I’ll accept the technicality, it’s harsh as fuck but thems the rules I guess.

Super proud of the effort put in by a threadbare squad. The club has come so far in just a couple of years. Moments like this are just fuel for the future. Howay!

I was just going off the cbs explanation, to be fair in my mind that shouldn’t ever be called.

Still have a chance of getting through!

I know that this sub has a huge anti PSG bias (even when it’s another oil club on the other side). So yes, PSG can be considered very tough. I agree with that. But for me there was a penalty on Hakimi and PSG and a handball by Newcastle earlier which was surely more of a penalty than the latter decision.

However, PSG were cursed in this match, on a “normal” evening PSG should put 4 in the second half. Newcastle never got past the midfield again from the second half onwards. And they can thank Donnaruma for giving them a ridiculous goal.

In short, Newcastle are a good team with heart, but for me PSG were clearly the better team tonight and a draw is the minimum.

In any case, this group is still wide open. Newcastle, Milan and PSG can still qualify. PSG can finish first or third. It’s wide open.

A bit tiring to see the same comment over and over : intent does not matter, hitting another part of the body does not matter : read rule 12 it’s easy to find (I just did because I thought the other body part was in the rule as well : it’s not it’s just a PL thing).

I do agree it’s harsh but the first handball earlier in the 2nd half should definitely have been given so in my biased opinion, it evens out.

Last thing, if I ever want someone to take this penalty, it’s Kylian. The lad just seems unfazed while 40k people are shitting themselves in the stands.

It’s because ambiguity of the rule. It’s a foul if the body is made unnaturally bigger by hand/arm is not a consequence or justifiable by the player’s body. His body was made larger yes, but as a result of his movement as he was in natural motion.

It’s too ambiguous cause where do draw the line? Having your trailing your body is a natural movement of the body as to keep balance.

Key thing here though is that it doesn’t hit the hand. It hits the chest and deflects onto the hand.

while i did think that PSG would eventually score i wasn’t expecting it to happen that way. that call was inexcusable, i would say almost corrupt.
