It being the most consumed seems sound. Specially because lot of Islamic countries forbid alcohol, have fairly low soda consumption while many people drink more tea than plain water.
When you add on countries where tea is just very popular, like a large portion of south-east asia, you get hundreds of millions of people who drink it more than coffee, soda or alcohol.
And in a lot of the other places in the world, people regularly consume at least three out of four. So tea has a massive advantage in taking the number one spot.
But I have my doubts about it beating them combined.
I’m thinking just shoot the US for instance, and the sheer amount of just alcohol that is consumed. Look at a sporting event, concert, or go to a bar on the weekend. This must have been based on some random poll or averages, but it can’t be combined.
I’d like to see the numbers and calculations to back that claim up. All of them combined?
There is like 1000 varieties of tea, if we’re counting herbals in this.
I’m with you. Everything combined is crazy. Although, it might be close for me except I might drink slightly more sparkling water than tea.
Sounds right to me. Like over half of the world is Asian and tea is super popular there, so it makes sense I think
