I go for the pre training review thingy today. They sent me the link yesterday and reiterated I had to fill out the LLN assessment prior to the PTR, so i wrote back to ask if they’d received my assessment, and they never replied which is always a good sign.

I feel like this is a bit of a pivotal moment for me, and this is about the point I’d start making saves if this were a game…

In other news, I was finally able to go watch that bad men movie on Sunday (3rd time’s the charm, I guess). I enjoyed it, even though I never saw the other one(s? I think it’s a trilogy). I pieced enough of it together to still enjoy myself.

Edit: it didn’t really go anywhere. Apparently being in high school I need a letter before I can start the course, even though I’m apparently old enough to just decide I want to leave. And of course it’s now school holidays so I can’t get it until the 12th, 4 days before my course starts…

I’d like to move to Sweden one day, that’s probably the soonest I’ll be seeing snow

Watching petrol prices fascinates me so much, since I don’t have a car. It’s $1.80 one day and then a week later it’s $2.03? But then you can get it for $1.90 if you drive to the other side of the city

I wanted to get into that but just couldn’t for some reason. Only watched the first few episodes, but I feel almost certain that if I can make it past the first season it will probably become one of my favourite shows. I’m just weird like that

When I was in Adelaide in March we went to dinner at some rooftop burger place on Friday night. There was a dude in one of those cars without a lid that makes far too much noise blasting music driving around the block and revving at the lights (we were on a corner). It was so weird. I don’t understand what makes people just do loops of the block for hours on end… Who can even afford that much petrol!

Apparently we’ve had 0.8mm since 9 here. It’s a little damp outside, and I can hear a few drops falling but it’s very light. It actually looks like the worst of it is hitting (and will hit) between Wallan and shepparton. Hope they don’t flood again

Yesterday

• I learnt how to use a lighter (I don’t smoke and I’ve generally not been able to have candles or incense, so I’ve just never learnt how to use one).
• I fell asleep really quickly.
• I got a new laptop charger to replace my old one which was a cheap knockoff that wouldn’t stay in the wall (it would fall out).

Today:

• I woke up at 8, but was able to get back to sleep and stay asleep until 11
• Amazon put my favourite brand and flavour of rice crackers back in stock so I got them for a 60 cent discount compared to the supermarket

Update: I made some space to give cities skylines 2 a go. Oh boy it was a slideshow. I think I was getting around 10fps on low graphics which looked really bad anyway.

Decided to just do a refund for it. I don’t think I will have a computer capable of running it until the 2030s. But given how much they were cooling for bad optimisation when it came out, I thought they would’ve worked on some better optimisation by now

I don’t get it either. I genuinely can’t see how we benefit from this at all
