Stop spreading FUD please.
For some reason people love to shit on Brave and turn a blind eye to mistakes made by Mozilla or problems with Firefox. Brave has had missteps in the past, as many projects have. This doesn’t make it “malware.”
It’s ok not to use it for ideological reasons - I don’t like their CEO either. But that doesn’t mean Brave is not a privacy browser or not a good browser.

I use this feature for snowflake
If making people feel safer walking and biking in cities = “worthless shit” to you then why are you even here? I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been honked at or yelled at or nearly run over while walking or on my bike by drivers who refuse to stop at red lights at all because of the right on red rule.
Cars don’t belong in cities at all, with the possible exception of delivery/commercial vehicles and vehicles for disabled people. Banning right on red is just one part of a multi-pronged approach to get us there, together with better bicycle infrastructure and public transit, etc.
/e/ is not degoogled and security does not seem to be a priority for them. I wouldn’t recommend it. See the following comments from a divestos dev:

Fuck borders!
So true, I watched dune in theaters with my friends and half of us fell asleep lmao
There is on Voyager https://github.com/aeharding/voyager
It’s also well documented by strongtowns how car infrastructure specifically devastates local communities and bankrupts cities due to how exorbitantly expensive it is. Long car commutes may increase the GDP of a country, but local areas suffer.
This illustrates very well how broken our economic system is lol. What benefits “the economy” (GDP) is not what benefits real people/communities.
I’ll also add that while Fairphone markets that they suoport their phones for many years, the firmware of the Qualcomm SoC it ships with stops receiving updates after only a couple years. Your phone will not be secure after this point. Read more here:

Interesting - I just checked again today and it’s showing up on lemmy.world
TIL downvotes on Lemmy are public lol. That was honestly just a misclick tho, my bad
Definitely possible. The first one lasted nearly 30 years (until 2020), the second lasted less than a year and was still under warranty, and the third just broke a few weeks ago. My repair guy seems to think the replacement part he’s been able to get is just lower quality than the original.
Thank you so much!!!
I’ve had it serviced at Master Tech before several times, and they seem willing to do it again if I can find the part. I don’t think they have any way of getting the part unfortunately
I believe they are - in fact, Bosch acquired Gaggenau at some point. Unfortunately, it looks like both Bosch and Gaggenau discontinued the part :(
Miele vacuums are incredible. I have one that’s over 20 years old and still going strong. They’re still making accessories that fit it too!
I don’t think it’s really true that AA has been “trying” to build housing for 20 years and not gaining ground. I was at a talk the other day where they said in 2016, they predicted that in order to meet Ann Arbor’s housing needs, they would need to build at least 140 new units of housing each year for many years. Since 2016, a whopping 50 units have been built. That’s kind of pitiful.
you know what else slows down ambulances? Congestion
I live near a school. Cars go way too fast and blast through intersections. Impeding the flow of car traffic is exactly what we need. I’d rather not require the ambulance in the first place.
