Sounds like trying to find work at my libraries help desk might be a good step? I lost some hours on another university job so that could help and be a learning experience.

Maybe I can ask what could I be teaching myself at home that could transfer to a desirable skill?

I’ve worked with some languages (Java and python), docker, VMs, some managed switch and vlan stuff, and I guess generally managing multiple servers on and off site (house).

I’m hosting a dockerized image of freshrss on my server which I can access as a webapp on my phone.

I believe there are plenty of phone apps and websites that can do the same! :) I would search rss app in the App Store. If they’re FOSS I would consider that better.

Can add feeds for anything! I have news, YouTube, podcasts, Lenny, and some reddit

It’s miles away from my home so that’s got to be it but cellular is turned off. I guess it doesn’t do anything unless it’s in airplane mode…?
