Deep fried cake covered in sugar is the quintessential American breakfast food.
Yup, though on the upside notifications seem to only work half the time here.
Cornelius_Wangenheim@lemmy.worldto A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•Republicans Want You to Die5·24 hours agoWhich is why I’ve always pushed back on the idea that Republicans care about profits over people. They care about enforcing the hierarchy first and foremost. They’ll sacrifice profits as long as it allows them to rub more shit into the face of the common man.

Opting out does not save you anything because voting doesn’t cost you anything in the first place. If you got a free bet, why wouldn’t you take it?
It’s more like we’re on a sinking ship and bailing water. The ship is going down if we don’t patch the hole, but bailing water still buys us time so that we can make more attempts to patch the hole. Except in this metaphor, bailing is something that takes maybe an hour of your time once every two years.
In the grim, dark future of 2055, Trump has become a title bestowed upon rulers, much like Caesar. All the bots that make up society were trained on the last vestiges of original human content created in the 2020s. They constantly praise the Trump and the Putin and harangue the source of all evil: Joe Biden.
Last job I had, I got tasked with setting up a server that would talk to all our network printers over SNMP and monitor their print counts and toner levels. In the process of that, I learned that one of our old LaserJet 8000s had 1.2 million pages printed over its 20 years of life. Old girl was still chugging along and never needed anything but toner.
Network laser printers that use standardized protocols like PCL5/6 have always been and still are pretty solid. They’re just not cheap when it comes to initial costs.
People keeping old ass industrial equipment alive. I had to buy some CD-Rs recently because it was the only way to get files on or off an ancient Win95 machine that had no network or USB ports. The machinery it interacts with costs a million dollars, so replacing it is no small thing.
They do not in any way, shape or form beat borracho beans. Also, proper refried beans made with lard at a hole in the wall tex-mex joint still beat baked beans.
Might be a regional thing, but in the US you only hear snuck unless the person is trying to be cutesy, like pretending to be a cat.
Yeah, but people will look at you weird if you use sneaked in serious contexts.
My cat probably would have voted for Trump. She’s selfish, not very bright and scared to death of outsiders.

Things can have multiple causes spread out over time. The Great Depression didn’t become Great until 1932 and the first causes were a flurry of bad borrowing and over-valuing of stock that started in the early 1920s.

Like it or not, it’s the only option for high speed internet for large swaths of the world. ViaSat is the only competitor and they’re even worse: slower, unusably high latency and ridiculously low data caps.
