  • I got a pair recently and I generally like them a lot. Minor complaints include the controls not always recognizing my taps, and like most earbuds, their fit is variable depending on your ears. They fit me pretty well, but I switch them for Comply foam tips when I need real isolation from all noise, not just noise canceling. Make sure you update the firmware, it makes a difference.

  • The problem with getting EVs below $35k is all the equipment cars are required to have plus batteries for hundreds of miles of range. US consumers are “spoiled” by the idea of driving 300 miles, filling up the tank, and continuing, and there’s no high speed rail to utilize instead of using a car on long trips. The US is vast, literally the size of Western Europe combined, so the solution needs to be vehicles with shorter range for the close stuff and getting high speed rail for the longer trips. The short range vehicles can have smaller batteries, and that saves money and weight, which benefits performance on the road for big efficiency gains at a macro level.

  • What they’re really hoping is for more mobile users to be forced into the official app, not the desktop. Desktop people can choose Old.Reddit (for now) and block some or all ads. Mobile users on the app provide a ton of marketable data, including, if I’m not mistaken, location data at least while the app is open. They want the user data and to sell Reddit Premium or ads to users, because there’s otherwise no path to profitability. What they have now is a very slim chance of profit, but their analysts must be huffing that hopium, because they alienated a massive amount of their biggest users, which is who made the site what it is.
