I wouldn’t call this a “smart workaround”. I mean, I can hardly blame the opportunistic fucks for doing it this way, and certainly the original sin in Apple’s licensing/certification bullshit, but it’s just an amazingly stupid way of doing this all around, brought about by both Apple’s and the earbud manufacturers’ greed.

You don’t even need root, or at least you didn’t when I had mine. You just need to turn on developer mode, and then the Fire Toolkit app can do the rest.

You have to keep in mind that the US started on the east coast and then expanded west. A lot of the terminology we use goes back to those days, where everything west of the original colonies was “The West”.

They are literally trying to control what clothes you can wear and what words you can use to refer to yourself.

It’s not a big fucking leap to say that the party making laws against teaching history and wearing certain articles of clothing want to control people and keep them ignorant. If you think it is, or think it’s a “both sides” issue, you’re part of the problem.

The thing about the golden middle is that it’s a thought-killing fallacy. If you just assume people on both ends are equally nuts, you can just stake out the territory precisely in between them and never actually have to think about the merits or morals of any given policy position.
