She’s had all day to recover now and is happily snoozing with her pups all cuddled up underneath her.
She got constantly told how good she was and how well she was doing throughout everything, with plenty of fuss to keep her calm, and plenty more fuss when she’s doing such a good job caring for them.

ItsGhost@sh.itjust.worksto A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•Limiting access to COVID boostersEnglish8·1 month agoYou know what’s also unhealthy for people, the infection this helps mitigate. I originally wrote out a long diatribe and was going to look for many citations for it, but realised I could sum it up much easier.
Vaccines are proven to reduce severity, especially in the vulnerable demographics mentioned, they also reduce transmission for everyone. COVID vaccine efficiency fades with time. As a member of said vulnerable group, any infection utterly sucks, even if vaccinated (although having had COVID 3x, the first was absolutely hell in comparison to post vaccination, natural or pharmaceutical). This not insignificant risk I have to accept on a daily basis. The risk to anybody of getting vaccinated is magnitudes less than the risk I have to accept. By taking this comparatively tiny risk on my behalf, you significantly reduce what I have to accept.
Argue what you will about forcing vaccines, but when it statistically poses less risk than the car drive to go and get it, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to allow people to opt-in if they so desire.
Unless it’s an embarrassing “I fell” syndrome incident I suspect they’d probably go to the one they know as they can probably pull strings and get better/quicker treatment

As for the air, I was always told the lungs can process about a TOTAL of a shot glasses worth in multiple smaller bubbles moving throughout the body before it causes issues (primarily from a diving context where air embolism is but one concern). Interesting to hear that the actual lethal dose is still considerably more than that, guess that visual guide for people is more the point at which it causes pathological symptoms rather than significant risk of death

ItsGhost@sh.itjust.worksto Coffee@lemmy.world•DF64 Gen 2 on sale 30% off in CanadaEnglish4·1 year agoI’ll preface them by saying this is me being critical of it, it is otherwise very good:
- the bellows don’t stay attached, everytime I take the lid off to put beans in I have to reattach them in place
- grind adjustment dial is obscured by the indicator such that you can’t read what it’s set to easily
- adjustment indicator can itself be moved without changing grind size
- bellows tend to blow the fresh grounds everywhere, especially the fines at the end
- as a leftie, the switch is in an irritating position
