I think the distinction is that ethnic cleansing is a more general term and genocide is a more specific term. An ethnic cleansing can theoretically not involve murder though this is all a bunch of semantics lawyering and I’m sure conversationally they are often used interchangeably.

There’s a bit idea here where one refers to all ingredients in foods or other stuff that hold together something as fascist, e.g. that egg in your fritters? fascist, potato starch? fascist, flour in general? fascist, cement in concrete? fascist; and so on. You could probably play it off the Parks and Rec Fred Armisen jail meme.
