All those gay republicans/conservatives that voted for Trump are going to be feeding the leopards well.
Well the young lady on the Jubilee video that Sam Seder debated was quoted saying “What’s the problem with xenophobic nationalism?” And that the Trump administration although are doing things to her liking are not extreme enough for her.
So I will be sticking with the South African Ambassador on this one.
The fact you don’t feel safe to protest is by far the most poignant point for me. Unless you are prepared to protest and be loud about it to stand up for your rights and the rights of others then they have won.
Throughout the history of the US, protests have been the one mechanism the public has had to voice their displeasure of the government. From Vietnam war, march on Washington for civil rights the protests have been what was needed for change.
Authoritarianism is not going to go away quietly or peacefully. So unless you want more of what you see then I urge you to protest and be proud and loud about your objection of the current administrations actions.
Edit: I will add it’s easy for someone like me to just say all of this, because being in another country I am not the one facing this. My point I am trying to make is that protests have been a tradition in the US and one that you will need to find strength to do if you really want change to happen.
This from the guy which was harping on about Kamala being a war monger.
I would have preferred a harder stance from us on this tbh.
If you google Habitat for Humanity and read their mission statement then it’s obvious the real reason particularly when you get to the last past.
The best thing about all of this is the fact this was all about making America great again but in fact it will do the opposite. Tarriffs and the realisation that the US are unreliable allies is only going to drive other countries to find other markets, and the arming if they avoid US tech means production and industry booming in countries but not the US. He is going to make America realise that what they had was great before he and Leon came along.
Yes, I know that. It’s the view point of essentially free-markets and deregulating. I am just saying there is no point in blocking the right wingers because bringing their views to light and by questioning them as well challenging their view points is the better play then sticking ourselves into an echo chamber.
I mean the same can be said about most right wing view points from my perspective but that does not mean I stop trying to see their view points in order to better inform myself and further strengthen my own understanding about why I choose to believe what I do.
Yeah bud, it’s healthy discussing opposing view points with the right leaning. Echo chambers are not healthy and you should always look to expand your own views and understanding through discussion.
Just needed to add the “sending thoughts and prayers” at the end but otherwise perfect.
Not really, because that harms the production within the US as well. Produce less means selling less, leas profits means less workers needed.
Man people are dumb, for those that still think this is a good idea here is the logic. Tariffs increase the price to bring in goods to a country, the supplier will typically add this additional price increase and charge it back onto the buyer to absorb. Meaning the buyer will see an increase.
Now let’s say Trump is doing this to bring production back to the States, in order to be successful you need to keep costs down as low as possible. This is also the reason alot of countries sent their production overseas because it’s cheaper (wages for example). So in order for the US to even begin competing with production giants like China and keep costs down means workers in the US have to get used to the idea of China style wages and work conditions. Hence Trumps reasoning for giving more power back to companies so that in X years US becomes the new production hub. But the pain to get there is going to be astronomical for the US. Feel free to add or point out any illogical thought processes in my opinion.
I hope our government uses this to find more stable trading partners. I wonder if Germany, China or Japan can take up some slack in relation to the aluminium.
I don’t understand why so much death of innocent kids can then just be swept under the guise of some “god’s will” with these religions. In light of today’s advancements and studies their distrust of reality is what causes these events. To me they are monsters for not taking the steps necessary to protect their own community. I am all for people needing or wanting religion but the longer your religion clings to the past then be prepared for such events. Just a shame of all the other innocent lives that might be lost because of these actions as well.
I think you are just trying to make an argument without absorbing what I am saying, I am not saying Liberals policies are always great for the economy either. The wealth inequality is going to get worse and the only way to correct this is to tax the top more.
But show me in conservative history where they have attempted to correct this same issue? Their policies are just as bad if not worse in case of Trump with his tarrifs kicking of a trade war and that cost is going to be passed onto the consumer which is excellerating what your concern is. The only reason the inequality is maybe not as bad in countries like my own that have strong worker laws that allow/force better wages/salaries. But make no mistake if we or other countries like ours still do not increase the tax on the wealthy then that gap will increase as well.
This all sounds like you are just spewing debates points without truly understanding any of it, try and do some research please before you try again.
Edit: Added a point to further clarify my view.
Liberals are by far the lesser of the two evils. Once again I would urge you to pay attention to what the right say and do. They talk of freedoms while stripping it away from others. You speak of liberals enriching themselves when as an example in the US Trump has reduced the taxes on the wealthy while the cost of living is increasing thats looks like the wealthy being given quite the enriching opportunity . Here in Australia our right leaning politician Peter Dutton has amassed a fortune through his political career and is quite friendly with mining the magnates. So please do tell me how the right still enrich but also take away the rights of woman to access to abortions, people wanting to transition and pose a general threat to who they perceive as immigrants even if they are legal in most countries is the better of the two.
If you think the right are going to usher in a golden age of democracy then I don’t think you have been paying attention to what has been happening or what they have been saying.
Thats MAGA in a nutshell. Thats what we are fighting against. The massive misinformation/disinformation spewed out on social platforms and people lacking critical thinking skills has created this perfect storm of idiocracy.
